Description
The N2XSEBY – YJSV22 is a robust 3-core medium voltage power cable. It features high-quality copper conductors. These conductors are circular and compacted for efficient current flow and optimal performance. Non-metallic, semi-conducting compounds are used for both the conductor screen and the insulation screen. This design improves electrical field distribution and minimizes partial discharges for enhanced reliability.
The core insulation is made from cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). XLPE provides excellent dielectric properties, ensuring minimal power loss and high insulation resistance for reliable operation. A copper wire metallic screen is integrated into the design. This component provides effective fault current handling and superior electromagnetic shielding.
To maintain the cable’s round shape and prevent moisture ingress, non-hygroscopic fillers are utilized. A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) inner sheath further protects the cable cores. For superior mechanical protection, the cable includes steel tape armour. This armour enables the cable to endure significant external mechanical stresses, ensuring durability in demanding environments. Finally, a durable polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer sheath provides overall protection and ensures a long service life. Furthermore, it fully complies with IEC 60502-2, which covers power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories. This standard is specifically for rated voltages from 1kV (Um=1.2kV) up to 30kV (Um=36kV), confirming its suitability for a wide range of medium voltage applications.
